Friday Mornings, twice per month, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm in the Lillian Croy Room

EfM is the course in basic theology for lay persons offered around the country and around the world through the School of Theology at the University of the South.  It provides theological study and reflection rooted in the Scriptures and traditions of the Church.  Essentially, EfM is an adult education course covering the Old and New Testaments, Church History, Liturgy and Theology.  There are no tests and no grades, and continuing Education credits are available upon completion of each of the four academic cycles.  A Certificate of Completion is awarded at the completion of the Four-year course.  A student registers for one year at a time and can pause between annual cycles as necessary.  Please visit the Sewanee website for more information.

Clotilda’s Guild

Third Tuesdays at 10:00 am in the Lillian Croy Room
St. Clotilda (c.474-c.545) was a Queen of the Franks having married Clovis I.  Clotilda was given a solid Christian education by her mother and convinced her husband to let their children be baptized Christian.  Through her gentle witness, Clovis soon became a convert.  During her widowhood, Clotilda cared for the orphans within her family.

St. Clotilda’s Guild at Holy Comforter contributes to the ongoing Christian education of its members and provides outreach to Jackson-Field Home, an organization that supports infants born to single mothers.  This year’s study is the Four Great Loves, a LifeGuide Bible Study.  For additional information, please contact Marj Riley at (703) 938-6285.
