Lenten Quiet Morning in the Chapel, Saturday March 31, 2012 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Join us for a quiet morning of contemplation and prayer using a new resource "Awaiting You." This booklet will guide you to various locations on our campus where you can pray and reflect on God's work in your life. Your clergy will offer meditations in the St. Mary's chapel at 9:00 am, 10:00 am, and 11:00 am. For more information, please contact Mother Libby+
Men’s Retreat at Shrine Mont, April 20-22, 2012
The Rev. Rick Lord and the Rev. Jody Burnett will be this year's retreat leaders, and the retreat theme will be: "Sign-Posts Along the Way: Reflections on the Spiritual Journeys of Men." This annual retreat provides the men of our parish with a wonderful opportunity for rest, reflection, and recreation in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, and it is also a chance to strengthen the bonds of faith and friendship which we share in this community of faith.
The cost for the retreat will be $155, which covers a room (double occupancy) and home-cooked meals throughout the weekend; single rooms are $180, but are in short supply. There will also be opportunities over the course of the weekend for golf, tennis, hiking, wine tasting, and other enjoyable activities. We want to extend a special invitation to new parishioners or those who have never attended this fun and enriching weekend—this is a great way to meet new friends and to relax for a few days in the mountains. Women’s Retreat at Shrine Mont, April 27-29, 2012 with the Rev. Blair Pogue!
We are delighted that Mother Blair+ will join us to teach on “Participating in God’s Life and Love for the World: Missional Spiritual Practices.” This retreat will include sessions on Dwelling in the Word, Dwelling in the World, focusing on that “one thing” (Mary and Martha), participating in God’s healing and reconciling work, and learning how to receive the hospitality of others. A mix of presentations, hands on experiences of these spiritual practices, discussions and quiet time for reflection and journaling might work well.
