Christmas Wreath Laying at Arlington Cemetery

Saturday, December 16, 2017

Each year on a day in December, Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1,200 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad. They encourage every volunteer who places a wreath on a veteran's grave to say that veteran's name aloud and take a moment to thank them for their service to our country. It's a small act that goes a long way toward keeping the memory of our veterans alive.

  • All ages are welcome to meet at Holy Comforter at 7:00 a.m. We will pray and carpool together. Parking is very limited at the Arlington Cemetary.
  • Bring a water bottle and cookies to share afterwards. The church will provide hot chocolate and hot apple cider.
  • Please note that food and drinks are not allowed on cemetery grounds. (Bottled water is okay.)
  • Do not bring backpacks or big purses. We will have to go through security check and all items brought with us will be searched.
  • We will be back at the church at 11:30 a.m. for some cookies and warm beverages.

Questions? Please contact Director of Children’s Ministries, Lauren Breeden.

We are not here to “decorate graves." We're here to remember not their deaths, but their lives.
