Parishioner Celestine Jones will teach us about this beautiful form of spiritual practice. No dance experience is needed. The purpose of this experience is to enjoy the spirit of the dances and the sense of oneness and peace that results from moving rhythmically.

What is Sacred Circle Dance?

Circle dance is the oldest form of dance on earth. Ancient folk dance steps are used with a mix of traditional, ethnic, and modern music. The steps are simple, repetitive and easy to learn with no dance experience needed.

What makes it Sacred?

In this format, Circle Dance is done with intention. It can be a form of spiritual practice where those gathered share in a sense of community and support for each other. The music or steps may also have a theme or evoke an emotion. Everyone, whatever age or background, moves and shares in a physical and meditative experience.

It is a gentle, healing way to bring body, mind, and spirit together and give a feeling of centeredness and connection.

It’s not about getting the steps right, but about enjoying the spirit of the dances and the sense of oneness and peace that moving rhythmically in a supportive circle can bring.
