CROP Hunger Walk 2020

Kicks Off on October 4—Continues through October 25!

The walk may be virtual, but the needs could not be more real. The Vienna CROP Walk for hunger relief, which is more vital than ever, will be both virtual and in-person—your choice!—this year. The “official” socially distanced walk, kicks off on Sunday, October 4, at 2:00 p.m. at the offices of CHO (Committee for Helping Others), at the corner of Park and Church Streets in Vienna. You can also walk on your own for the next three weeks, through October 25!

For all the information, and to register and donate for Team Holy Comforter, visit Vienna CROP Hunger Walk website, then share your walk and report your successes with others on CROP Hunger Walk Facebook page, under Vienna CROP Hunger Walk.  Suggested routes of one, two, or four miles are available, or you can choose your own route.

One-fourth of the funds raised will go to CHO (Committee for Helping Others), a Vienna-based nonprofit that provides a food pantry and other emergency assistance to local residents; three-quarters is sent to Church World Service (CWS), a multifaith hunger relief nonprofit.

The steps we take—and the funds we raise—will make a real impact. For example, $25–$50 allows CHO to provide food cards or diapers and cleaning supplies to a family; $100 allows CWS to provide four families in Nicaragua with chickens and a shared incubator.
