Contemplative Worship

From September through May, Holy Comforter's Music Ministry sponsors monthly evening services in a contemplative style, offering a unique opportunity to decompress and prepare for the week ahead. Theses services are held on the last Sunday of each month, at 5:00 p.m. in St. Mary's Chapel. Most of the services are in the style of Taizé—a powerful and moving combination of song and scripture. Occasionally, services are in the form of sung Compline—a meditative evening liturgy from the Book of Common Prayer, conveyed through chant and polyphony. All services feature lush greenery, incense, candles, icons, and considerable time spent in silent meditation. For more information, please contact David Kelley, Minister of Music.
