Holy Comforter Youth Meet with Five Talents Staff

Five TalentsOn Sunday, February 4, all 7th through 12th Grade youth were invited to interact with Five Talents staff and learn about multiple service opportunities for youth. Five Talents is a Christian charity that fights poverty, creates jobs and transforms lives by empowering the poor in developing countries through innovative savings and financial inclusion programs, business training and spiritual development.

Aimee Davis and Maria Owen, program officer for Five Talents, showed two videos and talked about the work Five Talents is doing to help end extreme poverty worldwide and its effect on the lives of young people. The presentation had been specially created for our youth and was very well received with lots of questions and comments.

Aimee and Maria shared about South Sudan and went through the devotional on the Parable of the Talents from Matthew 25. All the youth went home with a copy of the devotional booklet. It’s our hope that they shared these with their families, and ponder the talents, abilities, and time that they should use to serve the Lord. Learn more about the work of Five Talents HERE.

There may be an opportunity for youth to give of their time and to gain service hours on Monday, Februarty 19 (a school holiday)

Youth are invited to help stuff envelopes for Five Talents March Matchness mailing. We are currently finalizing a venue and will send more information as soon as we have finalized the details.

Anyone interested in participating should let one of the 7th, 8th or 9th Grade Sunday School teachers know or contact Denis McMullan.
