Christmas Week Hypothermia Shelter Needs Volunteers & Donations

If you and your family are looking to make a difference this holiday season, please consider the Hypothermia Shelter sponsored by Epiphany Episcopal Church in Oak Hill December 23–December 30, 2018.

This shelter is part of Fairfax County’s Hypothermia Prevention and Response Program. Epiphany will welcome 70 guests this year.  Guests are provided with not only shelter, but warm food, transportation and entertainment.

Here is how you can get involved:

  • Sign up to volunteer: Various opportunities are available. All volunteers are required to go through training sponsored by Epiphany, more details at the sign up web page.
  • Commit to a donation: The shelter needs food, household items and monetary contributions. For more information on items needed visit the donation page.
  • Spread the word: Help us spread about this initiative among your community – some of them may want to volunteer or contribute!

Our parish has traditionally hosted a shelter, but due to the construction of the new ministry center, we are not able to host this winter.  Let’s support Epiphany’s hypothermia shelter and give the gift of our time and care this Christmas Season to provide good food, a warm bed and a safe environment for those in need.

For specific questions, please contact Patrick Walsh, Epiphany Hypothermia Shelter Volunteer Coordinator.
