Fairfax Area Christian Emergency and Transitional Services (FACETS) is a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive programs and services - supportive housing, basic needs and emergency assistance, educational programs, eviction prevention services, medical outreach, and counseling—to people who are homeless or are otherwise precariously housed in Fairfax County.  FACETS also has a daily Hot Meals Delivery Program, and they coordinate a Hypothermia Shelter from December to March. Holy Comforter has participated in the Hot Meals program for over 21 years, with food preparation occurring in our own church kitchen on the second Sunday of every month, starting at 4:00 p.m. Questions? CHC hosted the FACETS Hypothermia Prevention Shelter in February 2017.

Holy Comforter hosted our annual one-week FACETS Hypothermia Prevention Shelter from February 5 to 12. Many volunteers joined to support this effort for the week. Aside from providing warm smiles, helping hands, and listening ears, volunteers performed many other critical tasks in a variety of shifts, including greeters, food prep and clean up, evening activities hosts, and overnight caretakers. Questions? Please contact Alisa Vogt.
