Annual Events
Parish Festival
This is a great time for fellowship, lunch, entertainment, games and events for children. The annual Parish Festival is held on a Sunday in the early Fall, immediately following the a special 10:00 a.m. church service. For a small fee you can purchase a grilled hamburger or hot dog lunch and baked goods.
Parish Brunch
The annual Parish Brunch is a catered event held at the Church prior to the Annual Parish Meeting in October. Everyone is invited to stay for the Annual Parish Meeting and guest speaker, directly following brunch. Childcare is provided.
Ice Cream/New Member Social
This annual event, held in September, kicks off the new liturgical year. It is for all parishioners and guests to enjoy home-made and store-bought ice cream and cookies. For those who are interested in becoming part of our Parish family, this is a great opportunity to meet other parishioners in a casual setting.
High Tea
Each year the ECW of Holy Comforter holds a High Tea for Women and Girls. The event offers fellowship and fun for mothers, daughters, and granddaughters. Prizes are given for the most beautiful, colorful, and outrageous hats! The High Tea is held in the Spring. Tickets will be on sale in the narthex on several Sundays prior to the Tea (advanced ticket purchase required).
Shrine Mont
Shrine Mont Camp and Conference Center, “a place apart,” is a scenic retreat owned by the Diocese of Virginia. It is located in Orkney Springs, Virginia in the Shenandoah’s, about two hours from Vienna. Each September on the weekend after Labor Day, many of our parishioners (including children) gather as a parish family for a wonderful weekend of fellowship, worship, fun and relaxation. Sign-up for the parish weekend usually begins in late July and space sells out fast.
