Lay Ministries

Lay Liturgists
Lay liturgists serve a vital role in each Eucharistic service. There is an opportunity to serve as a chalice bearers, lector, or intercessor. A chalice bearer serves wine during the Holy Eucharist. The lector reads the Old Testament verse for the week, and the intercessor reads Prayers of the People. (Click here for the current schedule.)

LEMS (Lay Eucharist Ministers)
Those trained and licensed by the Diocese to take communion to shut-ins on Sundays following the Holy Eucharist.

Manna Makers
Another vital, behind-the-scenes ministry prepares communion bread for all our services. This group gets together for fellowship and baking. All are welcome.

Ushers
The Ushers are men, women and older teenagers. All are needed to serve at the three Sunday services and all the other special services during the year.

Vergers
Vergers support worship by training and organizing the acolyte teams, and by coordinating the movement during the liturgy. (Click here for the current schedule.)

Sermon Tape Ministry
The Tape Ministry is serving those who cannot attend church services, whether home-bound or away. Tapes of sermons and other forums are available.

Sermon Archive Ministry
Volunteers are scheduled each week to transcribe the sermon from tape so that each sermon can be archived on the Web site for downloading or reading.
