Publication Guidelines and Timeline

General Publication Guidelines for CHC

  • eNews articles should focus on events that will occur during the next ten days. (Periodic Save-the-Date notices for programs dated further out can be submitted prior to the ten day period and will appear as space provides. Also, programs dated further out that require advance registration can be submitted prior to the ten day period.) Articles should be succinct—no more than 3 to 5 sentences—but can be more extensive if they are linked to the Holy Comforter website.
  • Bulletin Insert articles should focus on events that will occur during the next three weeks. Articles should be succinct, no more than 3 to 5 sentences, enabling adequate exposure for all programs.
  • Only proofread for the article you submitted.
  • All edits to Elys McLean.

Publication Timeline for eNews and Bulletin Insert

Monday

  • 12:00 Noon - deadline for all communication submissions. Send to Elys McLean and designate where you would like the information to appear, eNews, Bulletin Insert, etc.
  • 5:00 p.m. - eNews draft to program leaders for proofing (Only proof your submission).

Tuesday

  • 5:00 p.m. eNews edits due back to Elys McLean (No need to respond if your submission is okay).

Wednesday

  • 5:00 p.m. - Bulletin Insert draft to program leaders for proofing (Only proof your submission).

Thursday

  • 10:00 a.m. - final eNews sent to parishioners.
  • 5:00 p.m.  - Bulletin Insert edits due back to Elys McLean.

In the event that Monday is a holiday, the timeline for the eNews will be as follows:

Monday

  • 11:00 a.m. - eNews draft to program leaders for proofing (Only proof your submission).

  • 10:00 a.m. - final eNews sent to parishioners.

Publication Guidelines for Diocesan eNews

The Diocese also welcomes your submission of items to their e-Communiqué, but regret that they cannot honor all requests to include certain events or announcements. Following, please find some guidelines for submitting items to be considered for publication.

  • The purpose of the e-Communiqué is to provide timely information that is relevant to church leaders.
  • All items for e-Communiqué consideration should be submitted to Nancy Chafin.
  • Deadline for the e-Communiqué is every other Tuesday at noon.
  • Diocesan and church-sponsored events receive priority.
