Pastoral Companions
The Holy Comforter Pastoral Companions Ministry is a team of trained lay volunteers who provide compassionate, Christ-centered care to parishioners facing difficult life circumstances. Whether coping with illness, grief, family challenges, or other personal struggles, Companions offer a caring presence rooted in listening, prayer and relationship.
Support may be offered through hospital or home visits, phone or video conversations, or meetings at church or other locations. Companions provide empathetic listening, emotional support, and prayer in a confidential, nonjudgmental setting. Their role is not to give advice or solve problems, but to walk alongside those in need with Christ's love and compassion.
When helpful, Companions can also help connect individuals to community resources and other parish ministries for additional support. All Companions serve under the supervision of parish clergy and within a supportive team structure.
