Melissa is guided by the Paschal Mystery—Jesus' birth, life, suffering, death, and resurrection. This is the shape of our liturgy and the pattern of our lives. Love wins! Suffering and death are not the end of the story. Resurrection is! Melissa loves to reflect with people on this mystery and how we might be experiencing this pattern in our lives.
Before beginning her ordained ministry at Holy Comforter, Melissa was a Board Certified hospital chaplain, accompanying people of all faith traditions in the vulnerable moments of life. This was a holy privilege. Now, Melissa brings this experience into the context of the parish—another sacred privilege of her life. In the context of our church life, Melissa is energized by the sacraments, by preaching, and by intergenerational ministry experiences. Of particular theological interest right now, Melissa loves exploring disability theology and trying to catch up on all the topics her parishioners have shared with her.
Outside of church, Melissa enjoys spending time with her wife and her daughter, or visiting with her friends from all eras of her life. She loves coffee, books, and binging spy/thriller series on Netflix.
